Tuesday, 10/1: Narrative Structure

Today we reviewed various kinds of narrative structure (Freytag's pyramid, in media res, flashback, framing, stream of consciousness, epistolary). If you were absent, you will need to get notes from a classmate.

Homework:

1. Read the essay prompt.
2. Read "The Birthday Party" by Katharine Brush.
3. Develop a theme statement.
4. Develop a thesis statement.
5. Bring this work to class on Thursday and be ready to workshop it.
