We reviewed the terms diction, denotation, and connotation, and practiced our diction analysis skills. We then read and discussed the poem Metaphors by Sylvia Plath.

Friday, 1/10:
- Finish discussion of book group work
- Meet with students who chose to analyze the same poem as you
- I quickly introduced a new strategy (Color Marking) and students color marked a new/clean copy of the poem. IF YOU WERE ABSENT: you need to print out a new/clean copy of your assigned poem and color mark it according to the directions. Please color mark a clean copy of the poem according to these groupings. Arrive with this done on Tuesday.
HW:
- Complete the book group feedback form in Teams
- Finish color marking your poem and bring ALL your poetry work back on Tuesday to continue discussing
